Operation SAVE the Earth - Fighting against the Fukushima nuclear disaster

The 4-Steps Round Up 12.19.2014

The winds of change are blowing this week.  Suddenly we’re cool with Cuba?  YUP.  Did industrial hemp just get legalized?  KINDA!  And when I went to the Arizona Corporation Commission hearings this week to represent for rooftop solar here in the PHX, things looked positive!  Now if we could only say the same about Japan…
STEP 1. EDUCATE & SAFEGUARD
If Taiwan says they still don’t want the fish off the coast of Fukushima, why should we?  http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2014/12/19/national/taiwan-says-311-ban-on-japanese-food-exports-to-remain-in-place/

STEP 2. EVACUATE #FUKUSHIMA NOW
Step 2 got stepped on in a recent article on Mint Press News.  We can’t concede hope for the moms and kids yet however.  http://www.mintpressnews.com/MyMPN/nuclear-horror-stories-fukushima-daiichi-kazakhstan/

STEP 3. CONTROL & CONTAIN
At the Fukushima plant this past week, 6 TONS of tritium laced water leaked the same time a South Korean contingent was there to check on safety to they could start importing fish again.  Might want to put that off for now.  http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/12/19/6-tons-contaminated-water-leak-at-japan-fukushima-nuclear-plant/

STEP 4. NUCLEAR POWER IS OVER
The reason why Fukushima hasn’t been fixed yet is because of the Olympics.  In 2013, Prime Minister Abe flat out lied to the world and said everything was under control at the site.  And now they want to have events in Fukushima to show how much better things are?  Wow um, no thanks?  http://www.japantoday.com/category/sports/view/fukushima-wants-to-host-olympic-events-in-2020
Hey FukuFighters!  Following up from last week, check out Libbe HaLevy’s interview with nuclear scientist and Fordham prof. Quamrul Haider on the Nuclear Hotseat Podcast and check out these photos from the nonukes march in Tokyo last Saturday!
