The end of a tumultuous year means more nukes and less accountability for those who lie to us and say we need them. Let’s remember why we fight for #Fukushima right here and now, step-by-step:
STEP 1 EDUCATE & SAFEGUARD
While a #Chernobyl-style meltdown is unlikely in Ukraine nowadays, when all 4 nuke plants go down because of Russian shelling, it’s more than a local concern:
STEP 2 RECOVER #FUKUSHIMA NOW
The more things change (or decay as the case may be), the more things are staying the same in areas surrounding #FukushimaDaiichi according to the lens of photographer Nobuhiko Ito:
STEP 3 CONTROL & CONTAIN
Pacific Island nations are uniting their call with China and nations around the world to halt the planned water dump at #FukushimaDaiichi scheduled to begin next year. When will other countries (U.S.? Canada?) chime in to help?
STEP 4 NUCLEAR POWER IS OVER
As we’ve predicted all along, the Japanese government wants everyone to forget about #Fukushima and embrace nuclear energy all over again. 11 years of suffering isn’t enough, they want to prolong it for generations to come:
